The United States Department of Fulbright will offer Fully Funded Scholarship opportunities for overseas students from Romania in 2024. Students pursuing a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctoral Degree from an International Institution are encouraged to apply for fully funded scholarships. The Fulbright Student Award provides funding for one year of study abroad, including round-trip airfare, university tuition and fees up to a set sum, medical and dental insurance, and a living allowance.
Applicants seeking research grants must be enrolled in a Ph.D. program in Romania or another European country. Undergraduates in Romania cannot apply for Fulbright fellowships. Students from Romania have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to receive a Fulbright Scholarship and study in the United States. The Fulbright Romanian-US Student Award program is open for applications for graduate study in the United States in 2024 and 2025. Anyone with a bachelor’s degree or higher from a Romanian university, either public or private, is eligible to apply.

Criteria for Submission:
- Possessing Romanian citizenship is mandatory.
- Green card holders and those with dual citizenship are not eligible to participate in the study abroad program.
- Students need to have completed at least a Bachelor’s degree.
- The applicant must be a senior in high school or the equivalent to be considered.
- Possessing an exceptional command of the English language is required.
- No exceptions will be made for medical students.
- Ph.D. programs only accept applications from current students enrolled in a Ph.D. program in Romania or Europe.
- The only people who need to take an English proficiency test (TOEFL, GRE, or GMAT) are the Romanian finalists.

- With the availability of a complete online application on the official website, the application process is now easier than before.
- You must submit three letters of recommendation from university instructors and/or recognized Romanian or foreign specialists to complete your application.
- Referees can submit these letters either online or by mail as signed official paper copies by May 9, 2023 (postmarked).
